N-Plasty Iliotibial Band Definition

A N-Plasty of the ilio-tibial band is a surgical procedure used in patients with snapping hip syndrome. An N-Plasty is one of several surgicals procedures to lengthen the ilio-tibial band. The lengthening of the IT-Band is done by doing an incision (with the shape of a N).
